You’ll build the operational foundation—environments, delivery pipelines, monitoring, and cost governance—so the platform is reliable, secure, and ready to scale from the start.
Responsibilities
- Provision and prepare environments across the data platform, from SQL Server CDC sources through Snowflake landing and curated layers, using readiness checks before sensitive-data development begins.
- Configure Snowflake environments, workload-specific warehouses, access controls, resource monitors, and cost attribution.
- Coordinate Azure infrastructure, networking, private connectivity, identity, secrets, and replication-tool compute resources.
- Build and operate Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data and infrastructure artifacts, with controlled promotion across DEV, QA, UAT, and production.
- Integrate automated tests, data-quality checks, security scanning, and approval gates into delivery workflows.
- Establish monitoring and alerting for replication health, CDC lag, data freshness, schema changes, platform availability, and cost anomalies.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep, including Azure and Snowflake resources, remote state, and policy guardrails.
- Maintain architecture records, operational runbooks, rollback procedures, and delivery documentation in client-controlled repositories.
- Lead ongoing knowledge transfer and coordinate platform operations with client DataOps, architecture, infrastructure, network, and security teams.
- Track client dependencies and readiness risks, communicating schedule impacts and escalating proactively.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in DataOps or platform engineering for production cloud data platforms, including provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational handoff.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, Git workflows, branch policies, approval gates, automated testing, and multi-environment promotion.
- Working knowledge of Azure networking, Private Link and Private Endpoints, Key Vault, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Cost Management.
- Practical Terraform experience, including Azure Blob Storage remote state, the Snowflake Terraform provider, and infrastructure-as-code security scanning.
- Experience with Snowflake access control, warehouse sizing, resource monitors, and data protection features such as row-access policies and dynamic data masking.
- Experience operating and monitoring production CDC replication, including lag alerts, recovery procedures, and schema-drift detection.
- Strong secrets-management practices, including credential rotation and avoiding plaintext secrets in repositories and pipeline definitions.
- Familiarity with secure development practices, least-privilege access, and audit logging in sensitive-data environments.
- Experience owning platform cost attribution, budget alerts, and right-sizing reviews.
- Fluent English at B2 level or higher, with the ability to communicate clearly with client teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Qlik Replicate, including CDC configuration, schema evolution, latency monitoring, and recovery.
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Server or SQL Server on Azure VMs and coordination with DBA teams.
- Operational experience with Microsoft Fabric or OneLake.
- Experience with Azure ExpressRoute or hybrid cloud networking.
- Experience implementing Microsoft Entra ID Privileged Identity Management workflows.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or other SQL Server source systems.
- Experience operating Power BI semantic models, scheduled refreshes, and gateways.
- Experience writing production runbooks and facilitating structured client knowledge transfer.
- Experience in mortgage, lending, or financial-services environments with rigorous change controls and audit requirements.
- Experience operating dbt or similar versioned SQL transformation frameworks in Snowflake CI/CD pipelines.
